Wednesday evening the San Diego Scottish Rite hosted the 22nd annual Law Enforcement Officer of the Year awards. Every agency in the county was represented including the Harbor Patrol, Campus police and the District attorney’s office. The individual agencies submit their nominee to the Scottish Rite committee, and each officer receives a plaque honoring their accomplishments. The top officer is selected from this group. Chief Shelly Zimmerman of the San Diego Police Department was the guest speaker for the evening. Congratulations to Officer Charles “Monty” Stevens of National City Police Department…the Scottish Rites Officer of the Year!
